1881 German 10pfg postal stationery card used to Constantinople cancelled with the Aachen cds. The front is struck with the single ring KAISERLICH DEUTSCHES POSTAMT No. 1 datestamp, only applied as an arrival mark in the German P.O. in Constantinople. Rare. £70

 

1846 E.L. from Luebeck to St. Petersburg cancelled with the double ring LUEBECK cds and inscribed Per dampfschiff Naslednik and backstamped on
arrival. One of the 4 ships using this route and an 1850 registered cover to England via Ostende struck with the double ring LEIPZIG cds, the P in circle and a Crown/REGISTERED handstamp, all in black. The front also shows the London Paid cds and Crown/REGISTERED handstamp in red. Various manuscript rates and registration notations. Scarce. £100

1805 E.L. to France from Bremen inscribed frco Amsterdam and struck with a straight line HOLLANDE in transit. 16 decimes charged. 1881 Consignees cover with handstruck BRIEFLADE struck on the front with the ENDINGEN cds & on the reverse with the Hamburg cds. The front shows a handstruck T in octagon and on arrival was struck with the NEW YORK / DUE 10 CENTS duplex, with a pair of pen cancelled 5c US postage due adhesives added to the reverse. A little fore shortened at the right on opening. Scarce. 1886 cover franked with 20pfg adhesive cancelled with the HAMBURG cds and inscribed Via Lissabon and addressed to Porongos, Uruguay. A scarce destination. Hanover- 1866 E.L. franked with 1 gr. roulette adhesive cancelled with the scarce double ring KIRCHDORF cds in blue. £75

 

Franco-Prussian War- 1870 Franco Prussian war period stampless cover from Mainz to Southern France inscribed Via Suisse. The front is struck with the military cachet and the boxed PORTO FREI handstamp, both in blue, together with the boxed PD and MAINZ cds in black. On the reverse is the TOULOUSE A BORDEAUX A TPO cds and the PENNE arrival cds. and an 1871 Franco Prussian war period cover to Belgium struck on the front with the COBLENZ cds and the framed PORTO FREI / ORDRE / 7.8.70 cachet in blue together with a boxed PD in red. On the reverse is a military cachet and the arrival datestamps. £130

(D) / 10/5 1860 datestamp and on arrival with the handstruck 45öre postage due mark. and an 1832 cover to France struck on the front with a fine ³T.T.R.4 HAMBOURG² handstamp in black and the half round framed Allemagne P.Givet French entry handstamp in red. £45

Design with plain black ground, rouletted 11 1/2, 4/4s. rose, ribbed paper (1st printing) pair and single (very faint peripheral rust toning) on neat 1865 (c.) envelope to Boizenburg cancelled by OBUTZOW 27/1 double ring d.s.
